
Woodland Junior High was completed in 1955 at a cost of $19,293,626. Woodland
Junior High was opened in December of 1955 as a grade four, five, six school.
There were a total of 1,600 students enrolled. In 1961, the school was occupied
by grades six-nine. Grades four and five were moved to the elementary schools
that year. In 1963,
Woodland Junior
High made its first steps towards a Middle School when, in the fall of 1989,
the ninth grade was moved to the High School. The next fall the first sixth
grade class entered

In 2003 a new
12 room wing was added with a guidance suite, House I Assistant Principal's
office, psychologist's office, a new computer lab , and a science lab.
