C.A.P.E., the Creative Arts Program of East Meadow, is continuing the Friday Night Recreation Program, affectionately known as “Rec Night,” for students currently enrolled in grades 6 through 8 at Clarke Middle School.

PLACE:  CLARKE (Drop off and pick up at the front circle only)

   9/21, 10/26, 11/30, 2/8 (movie night), 3/15, 4/19

TIME:    7:00 pm until 9:00 pm

ACTIVITIES:  Music & dancing to a DJ, sports including volleyball and basketball, games including ping pong, billiards, air hockey and assorted board games, karaoke (Specific activities may vary at each location/session).  Snacks are provided; drinks will be available for purchase.

FEE:  $8 advance registration fee is required, cash or check made payable to C.A.P.E.  In addition, a $3 admission fee is required for each Rec Night session, collected at the door.

This program provides a safe, supervised alternative for our children.  Guidelines have been established to provide everyone with a safe and enjoyable program.  Please review the guidelines on the back of this sheet with your child. The attached registration/emergency contact form needs to be filled out completely and signed by both parent and student and returned in an envelope with the $8 registration fee to the Rec Night box in the Main Office. Students are permitted to register for the program any time during the school year; however, if a student is not preregistered, a parent must accompany their child to sign up at the door on Rec Night.

We are excited to offer this program to our students, but it is impossible to run the program without the help of parent chaperones.  The program needs at least 20 parent chaperones at each Rec Night to help ensure the safety of our children.  Ideally, we would like to have the parents of each student participating to sign up to chaperone at least one Rec Night, but if you can sign up for several sessions, we would greatly appreciate your assistance.  Fathers are especially needed to help in the gym!  Please circle any dates on the registration sheet that you may be available to chaperone and mark your calendar! The parent volunteer coordinators will contact you the week of Rec Night to confirm your availability.
