Community/Education Report
September 2016

The Bowling Green PTA hosted a welcome back breakfast for teachers and staff on Thursday, September 1st.  Bagels, pastries, coffee, yogurt, and juice were provided in the East and West faculty rooms.  It was a fabulous start to the 2016-2017 academic year.

On Tuesday, September 6th, Bowling Green held Kindergarten and New Student Orientation for parents and students.  The parents had an opportunity to begin their partnership with the school by meeting teachers, building administration, and support staff.  The teachers explained the curriculum, what a typical day entails, and ways parents can support their child at home.  The orientation was well attended; parents and students were made to feel at ease.

On Wednesday, September 7th, the Bowling Green staff welcomed our Kindergarten students as they began their first day of Kindergarten.  The students were very excited to start their day.  After they unpacked their backpacks, they introduced themselves to each other and began their day.  The students ended their day with smiles on their faces and were eager to return the following day.

Meet the Teacher Night was held on Wednesday, September 7th, for grades one through five.  Representatives from the PTA were available to sign-up members for the 2016-2017 school year.

Fall Beautification will be held on Friday, September 16th.  The PTA will be planting flowers in the front circle and flower boxes in preparation of the upcoming Fall Festival.

Bowling Green’s annual Fall Festival, sponsored by the Bowling Green PTA, will be held on Saturday, September 24th.  There will be a variety of vendors, activities, and refreshments available for the community to enjoy.
