W.T. Clarke Middle School recently held its Second Annual Pumpkin Contest to get into the Halloween spirit.

Students were tasked with creating a unique carving and/or design for a pumpkin with the prospect of winning prizes. The entires were placed in the lunchroom for judging over a two-day period and were also displayed for the Halloween Recreation Night on October 26. Each student in the school had an opportunity to vote during the process.

Top winners each received a bushel of fun Halloween crafts, candy and snacks. Congratulations to first place winner Connor Jones for his “Popcorn Pumpkin” creation, second place Shay Genna for her “Minecraft Pumpkin” and third place Juliet Cimaglia for her “Oscar the Grouch Pumpkin.” Other awards were given for creativity and recognized such favorites as “Donut Pumpkins,” “Smurf Pumpkins,” “Stranger Things Pumpkin” and “Winnie the Pooh Pumpkin.”

All pumpkins can be viewed on the middle school Twitter account (@WTClarkeMS).
