The W.T. Clarke High School Mock Trial club won the New York State High School Mock Trial Championship, held in Albany, New York, May 21-23.

After being named Nassau County champions, the Clarke students presented the same mock case of Robin Berkman v. County of Dover against the top eight regional winners at the James T. Foley Courthouse on May 22. In the semifinal round, Clarke presented both sides of the case — the plantiff and defendant against Iroquois High School and Postdam High School, respectively — before a panel of judges.

Emerging victorious over both schools, Clarke advanced to the finals, where the team served as the plantiff’s lawyers and witnesses to win the Mock Trial Championship against Regis High School.
"I am extremely proud and humbled by the team’s accomplishments,” said Paul Henning, the Clarke Mock Trial advisor. “Their focus and commitment is inspiring and has created a positive environment for future teams to emulate and aspire to achieve. I am also very thankful for the commitment and dedication to this program by [attorneys] Allan Hyman and George Michel."
