East Meadow social studies teacher awarded by LICSS

East Meadow High School social studies teacher Kara Zahradnik has been named a recipient of the 2016 Long Island Council for the Social Studies Outstanding High School Social Studies Teacher Award.

According to its website, the LICSS is a professional organization comprised of members who are teachers, supervisors, museum educators, librarians and others involved in social studies education in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Sheena Jacob, social studies department chairperson at East Meadow High School, nominated Ms. Zahradnik because of her knowledge of social studies and current world issues, her inspiration to East Meadow students and her emphasis on the importance of studying history.  

The district congratulates Ms. Zahradnik on achieving this accomplishment and giving her absolute best to the students of East Meadow.
