District Celebrates Red Nose Day

Students, administrators and faculty in the district celebrated Red Nose Day on May 26 to help community members and local families in need.

Red Nose Day, a fundraising campaign organized by the not-for-profit Comic Relief Inc., is on a mission to lift kids out of poverty across all 50 states and 15 international countries through programs that keep them safe, healthy and educated.

Every school in the district collected donations of nonperishable food items for a week and participated in an array of activities that encouraged students and faculty to support this worthy cause.

In addition, the East Meadow Kiwanis and East Meadow Chamber of Commerce supplied red noses for purchase at East Meadow and W.T. Clarke high schools. All proceeds will benefit the organization.

Addressing all participants in the district and community, PTA Council President Donna La Scala said, “Thank you all for your participation and for getting silly during this year’s Red Nose Day.”
