Fifty-three students, “hair fairies” and five teachers, “hairy godmothers” from Woodland Middle School granted the wish of patients by individually donating eight inches of their own hair to create wigs through Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths program.

The Beautiful Lengths program helps women battling cancer feel like themselves again by partnering with the American Cancer Society to make and distribute free real-hair wigs.

Woodland Middle School held its “big cut” ceremony on June 13, during which students in grades 6-8 and teachers volunteered to have their family and friend sponsors cut off eight inches of their hair. Sponsors measured the hair with the help of Impressions Salon stylist Gina.
Following the event, all students who donated their locks had their hair styled by volunteers from local salons.
